The programme

The International Management & Information Systems (IMIS) programme integrates business administration with applied information systems and the latest IT trends. Our international students, encompassing all corners of the globe, will be prepared to meet the increasing challenges of a globalised economy. Therefore, ensuring excellence, diversity, and equality are key characteristics of our study programme. Our study language is exclusively English.
How it is organised
Our degree course follows a blended learning approach, providing a balanced mix of on-campus and off-campus study experiences. During the first semester, students enjoy face-to-face classes and engage in intensive group work on our picturesque Soest campus.
Study abroad
In the second semester, students have the opportunity to study abroad at the partner universities to gain further education and cultural experiences in other countries.
Internships
During the second semester, students have the exciting opportunity to pursue an internship at a business organisation while simultaneously participating in the compulsory modules through e-learning.
Part-time work
Job opportunities cannot be guaranteed to prospective students, and it is the responsibility of students to ensure that they can cover their costs without relying on additional income.
Support for international students
Our institution specialises in providing comprehensive support to international students. From the moment you are admitted to the university until your arrival in Germany, as well as throughout your course of study…

From your country

General requirements for master's applicants. Rules change — confirm with the university and your local German mission.

🇮🇳 Applying from India
  • An APS India certificate is mandatory before your visa appointment — processing takes weeks, so start it the day you decide to apply.
  • Budget for the blocked account (€11,904 for one year in 2026 — verify the current amount with the German Embassy).
  • IELTS/TOEFL is typically required; some universities accept a Medium-of-Instruction letter — check the official program page.

🇳🇬 Applying from Nigeria
  • Proof of funds is usually a blocked account; open it early — transfers and verification take time.
  • WAEC/NECO results are assessed via uni-assist for most universities; a Studienkolleg year may be required for bachelor's entry.
  • Visa appointment slots in Lagos and Abuja book out months ahead — book as soon as you have an admission letter.

🇻🇳 Applying from Vietnam
  • APS Vietnam certification applies to Vietnamese applicants — schedule the document check before university deadlines.
  • Most universities want IELTS 6.0–6.5 for English-taught programs; requirements vary by program.
  • Plan finances around the blocked account plus health insurance — both are checked at the visa stage.

🇧🇩 Applying from Bangladesh
  • Document verification is strict: keep certificates, transcripts, and bank papers consistent and genuine — discrepancies sink applications.
  • The blocked account is the standard proof of funds. You do not need an admission letter to open one, so set it up alongside your applications.
  • Apply to several programs in parallel — visa processing in Dhaka can be slow, and an early admission letter buys you time.

Living in Soest

Aerial view of the old town of Soest with the Romanesque tower of the Patrokli cathedral, the Petri church and a dense mass of red tiled roofs

A walled Hanseatic town of green sandstone churches with one university-of-applied-sciences campus, a five-day fair every November and a lake in reach by bike.

Soest has about 47,750 people and sits in the farmland of the Soester Börde, on the old Hellweg trade route, roughly 50 km east of Dortmund and 50 km west of Paderborn.
