The Indian route to Germany runs through engineering. TU9 universities and Fachhochschulen alike are full of graduates of Indian B.Tech programs doing English-taught master's in CS, data science, mechatronics, and automotive engineering — then converting Werkstudent roles at Bosch, SAP, Siemens, or the Mittelstand into full-time offers.
What makes the corridor work: no tuition at most public universities, a transparent APS process (annoying but predictable), and one of Europe's most established Indian professional communities to land into.

Is Germany better than the US/Canada for Indian students right now?
Different trade-off: Germany offers near-zero tuition, a transparent post-study runway (18-month job-seeker permit), and stable visa policy — against tighter caps and higher costs elsewhere. For engineering/IT profiles the value case is currently hard to beat.
Can I bring my spouse?
Family reunification exists with fund/housing requirements and is a separate application — most students bring partners after settling in. Verify current rules with the mission.
Do German companies really hire Indian graduates?
Yes — engineering and IT employers hire international graduates of German universities at scale, typically from their own Werkstudent pools. B1 German dramatically widens the funnel.
What if I miss the January window?
Rolling-admission private programs still start year-round, and the winter intake opens applications in spring. Use the board's 'Apply anytime' section.
